Stress Buster

2 minute holiday

This is a  short and simple stress busting exercise and will take only 2 to 3  minutes:

Find a quiet spot, even the toilet will do. Take a few deep, slow breaths. Hold each breath for a couple of seconds at the end of each inhalation and exhalation. Once you feel a little calmer just allow yourself to breath normally.

Now just allow your eyes to close gently and think of the best holiday you have had or one you would like to have. Very vividly imagine the feelings of excitement as you arrive at your destination. Experience the vibrant colours and sounds, the fantastic  smells, the wonderful meals. Outdoors imagine the breeze on your skin, the sights, the feel of sun on your face, imagine it so completely that you are  actually there.

Just hold and explore these sensations for a couple of minutes,  then open your eyes feeling calm and relaxed and ready for the rest of the  day.
